A recent art/design work has been centred on artificial intelligence (Of machines learning to see lemon). I've been very interested in looking at how real and artificial neurons function. Oliver sacks talks at length about how the brain works, often by using examples and patients who've non-normal functions.
Dawkins sets up a difference in thought between Kant and Newton, which influenced the title of Unweaving the Rainbow which I talk more on in this post.
The nature of reality and gravity is discussed in the book Quantum Gravity by Rovelli. A combination of this and artificial intelligence led to some thoughts on reality and perception itself.
